Orange County Soccer Club is proud to announce the ’Future Stars’ program for the spring season. As both coaches and players have begun to develop faster at the youngest ages, there is a growing demand for more training and soccer experience. This program addresses that need with professional training in a fun and positive learning environment. Professional, licensed coaches from OCSC will provide the instruction and will administer the program. The program is available to both OCSC members and non-members.

The goal of the Future Stars program is to allow players the freedom and creativity to express themselves on the field. Our objective is to help foster an individual relationship with the ball in a positive environment that is great fun and challenging. We encourage risk-taking so players can be very creative and develop a high level of comfort and confidence on the ball. We want each player to be involved and engaged at all times, with as many touches on the ball as possible.
The Future Stars program is an 8 week progressive program of technical/tactical instruction in combination with 4v4 developmental games. During each session a specific skill is demonstrated and taught to the players in the early part of the session and then encouraged throughout the games.
Week 1 (Mar. 21st) Beating an opponent 1v1 using different feints and fakes.
Week 2 (Mar. 28th) Speed dribbling/running with the ball under control into an open space or targeted area.
Week 3 (Apr. 4th) Dribbling for possession or shielding the ball.
Week 4 (Apr. 11th) Turning away from pressure using the inside, outside or sole of the foot.
Week 5 (Apr. 18th) Cushioning the ball away from pressure (first-touch control), air & ground balls.
Week 6 (Apr. 25th) Precise passing: passing with the inside and outside of the foot & disguising the pass.
Week 7 (May 2nd) Shooting & finishing.
Week 8 (May 9th) Creativity: inventiveness, imagination & clever play.
The fee for the program is $120 for the eight weeks. Registration for the program is on a first-come, first-served basis. Players register for the entire 8 weeks and there are no refunds for missed sessions. We will accept a maximum of 20 boys and 20 girls in each of the following four age groups: U9, U10, U11, and U12.
