For many years, those involved with organized soccer in
Central Florida have long argued for the need to consolidate clubs for the improvement of player development. Despite some failed attempts over the years and with the addition of yet more clubs in the area, great news has finally arrived. Orange County Soccer Club is proud to announce that beginning next year it will merge with Inter United Soccer Club. These two clubs combined will now represent one of the ten largest clubs in
Florida and collectively will be able to better service our membership needs in many ways.
In addition to the merger of these clubs, we are very proud to announce a new partnership with Sports Partners of America (SPA) based out of
Littleton, Colorado . SPA is a partnership amongst 21 diverse clubs from 21 states collectively known as the Rush Soccer Clubs. Rush clubs represent over 33,000 soccer players nationally. This affiliation will provide our club administrators access to a variety of services and intellectual property. Additionally, it will provide our players access to a multitude of benefits from improved training techniques, to national sponsorship, to player / coach exchange opportunities, to international soccer travel with other Rush players from across the country, plus much more.
Therefore, beginning at the conclusion of the 2008 State Cup tournament (May 25, 2008) our new club will officially be called the Florida Rush. Our club will continue to focus on all aspects of soccer, including the micro, developmental, advanced, and competitive teams, as well as many new programs created for the player’s development. Every aspect is vital to the success of our new club. We know there will be challenges, but we are committed to making the Florida Rush one of the best overall clubs in the state.
Tryout information, uniforms, and pricing info will be posted on our new Florida Rush web site by the end of April. Our coaching staff will be announced by the middle of May. All teams will go through tryouts as one club starting this year. Our goal is to build the competitive program with two or more teams in each age group. All of these teams will receive the same commitment from coaches / trainers in order to form a solid foundation for the future. Florida Rush Soccer Club is committed to making soccer a fun, safe, and rewarding experience for everyone involved, regardless of ability. We will strive to provide an environment that promotes a passion for the game and a positive overall experience for all participants.
Please keep checking the current website of both clubs for further updates on the FLORIDA RUSH.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Tony Perry
President, Orange
