IRVINE, Calif. (February 26, 2018) – 24-year-old international defender Kontor Owusu-Ansah signs with Orange County Soccer Club, the team announced today, pending P1, league and federation approval. Owusu-Ansah joins the club from Larissa F.C. of the Greek Super League, the highest division in Greece. Prior to his time in Greece he spent six seasons in the Serbian SuperLiga with, Metalac Gornji Milanovac (“Metalac GM) and FK Novi Pazar.

He comes with a great deal of experience having played against teams such as Olympiakos and Panathinaikos in this past year,” said Orange County SC Head Coach Braeden Cloutier. “Kontor is an extremely athletic player with great technical ability. He will be an exciting player for the Orange County fans this season.”
Owusu-Ansah made his professional debut with Metalac GM in the 2011-12 Serbian Cup match against FK Srem on September 20, 2011. He would make his league debut for the club 4 days later in round 6 against FK BSK Borca. Owusu-Ansah remained with the club through 2015, appearing 85 times, before signing with FK Novi Pazar in 2015. In July 2016, Kontor signed with AEL (Larisa F.C.) of the Greek Super League and went on to make 19 appearances in Greece’s top division, competing against some of the best teams in Europe.
