Orange County SC to Host Las Vegas Lights FC in Final Preseason Match

Orange County SC to Welcome Las Vegas Lights FC to Championship Soccer Stadium on Friday, March 9th at 11 a.m.

IRVINE, Calif. (February 28, 2018) – Orange County Soccer Club will host Las Vegas Lights FC at Championship Soccer Stadium on Friday, March 9 at 11:00 a.m. for the final preseason match of 2018.  The match is open to the public, and Orange County SC fans will have the chance to get a first look at Las Vegas Light FC’s newest addition Freddy Adu.

Orange County SC kicks off the season with two matches at home.  The club’s Home Opener takes place on Saturday, March 17 at 7:00 PM at Championship Soccer Stadium at the Orange County Great Park against Phoenix Rising FC.  On Saturday, March 24 Orange County SC plays host to Sacramento FC at 7:00 PM for T-Shirt Night.  Fans may purchase tickets online at or by calling (949) 647-GOAL.

Las Vegas Lights FC, the newest member of the United Soccer League, will kick off its season on the road at Fresno FC on March 17.  The club plays its home opener at Cashman Field against Reno 1868 FC.


Orange County Soccer Club is Orange County’s only professional soccer team that is part of the United Soccer League (USL), the fastest growing Division II professional soccer league in the world.  The USL is comprised of 34 teams across the United States.  The team plays its home games at the Orange County Great Park’s Championship Soccer Stadium, located in Irvine, CA.  Nestled in the heart of the Great Park, Championship Soccer Stadium has a capacity of over 5,000 for Orange County SC matches. Orange County SC is also the official affiliate partner of the Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC), a new Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise. The preceding club, Orange County Blues, won the 2015 Western Conference Regular Season Championship and reached the Western Conference Semi-Finals of the USL Playoffs in back-to-back seasons.  Team owner and Chief Investment Officer of LARO Properties, James Keston, purchased and re-branded the team in 2017.  Keston, who actively oversees all operations of the team, is dedicated to providing a pathway to professional soccer and a world-class soccer organization that focuses on the fans, players and youth clubs of Orange County.
