Club looks to continue adding to its historic season.

IRVINE, Calif. (September 6, 2018) - Orange County SC looks to continue adding to its historic season this Saturday, September 8th, returning home to host OKC Energy FC at Championship Soccer Stadium at 7:00 PM.

Over the Labor Day Weekend, Orange County settled for a 1-1 draw with Seattle Sounders FC 2 on the road in the Pacific Northwest. During last Sunday’s match, defender Alex Crognale provided the lone goal for Orange County.

As it has in the past, in the second half of this season OKC has surged. The club has scored three or more goals in five of its past ten matches. Jose Barril and Christian Volesky lead OKC’s attack. In its last match, however, Energy FC lost 1-0 to Swope Park Rangers.

When Orange County and OKC met earlier this season, Orange County took all three points with a 1-0 win at Taft Stadium in Oklahoma. Forward Thomas Enevoldsen provided Orange County SC’s goal.

“OKC has a much different team now than the one we faced at the beginning of the season,” said Orange County SC Head Coach Braeden Cloutier. “At that time, they struggled with their form and we took advantage for our first victory. After that tough start to their season, they put together a great run of games and have carried that momentum in recent weeks. I expect a highly energized game, with a playoff feel [this weekend].”

Prior to kickoff this Saturday, fans can experience the debut of Orange County SC’s Bar Network Program at Knowlwood Restaurant in Irvine. A pre-game party is scheduled for Saturday, between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Knowlwood has created a special food and drinks menu just for Orange County SC fans who show their ticket to the evening’s match or wear their Orange County SC gear. The historic burger restaurant’s Irvine location is on the edge of the Orange County Great Park, and right off of the 5 Freeway at Sand Canyon.

Then, at Championship Soccer Stadium that evening, a limited number of fans will enjoy Orange County SC’s Wine & Soccer event with an auction benefitting Soccer for Hope. Additionally, all fans will have access to the club’s new Craft Beer Lounge which will premier in the Fan Zone in partnership with OC Brew Ha Ha Productions and featuring popular craft breweries: Left Coast Brewing, Black Market Brewing, Barley Forge Brewing, Hangar 24 Craft Brewing and Bootlegger's Brewery.
