Not Quite In Oakland
Orange County SC visits Oakland Roots SC in the Bay Area on Saturday, July 31 at 5pm. The game was scheduled to be played at Laney College Stadium just outside downtown Oakland, however it has been moved to Las Positas College which is 30 miles east in Livermore.
This will be their second meeting in history and the first held in the Bay. OCSC took the first match with a 1-0 victory thanks to a Ronaldo Damus 45’ goal.
Crab Dance → Team of the Week
Brent Richards still leads OCSC with five assists and scored his first goal with the club against Sacramento Republic FC on Saturday, July 24. After scoring, Richards broke out a crab celebration dance that delighted the supporters at Championship Soccer Stadium. Not only did Richards receive The Dog Pawrk Brewing Co. Man of Match honor, but was also named to Week 14’s USL Championship Team of the Week. It is the second time this season that he has been awarded a spot on the Team of the Week.
August Entanglements
When OCSC finishes their rendezvous with Oakland, it will mark the end of an eight-game month of July. In August, OCSC will play just five games beginning with a home match against LA Galaxy II on Saturday, August 7 which kicks off OCSC’s summer Beer Fest series. For the first time this season, OCSC will play Pacific Division leaders Phoenix Rising FC in Arizona on Saturday, August 14. The team will wrap up the month and embark on their longest road trip to face Charleston Battery in South Carolina on Saturday, August 28.
