IRVINE, Calif. (June 6, 2018) –Orange County SC head to StubHub Center on Sunday, June 10 at 5:30 PM for the second installment of the 405 Derby against LA Galaxy II. Fans’ Choice Save of the Week (Week 12) nominee, Andre Rawls, looks to continue his reign at the top of the USL Western Conference and get his seventh clean sheet of the season.
The last time these two teams met, Orange County SC dominated the match, taking three points at home in the 3-0 victory over Los Dos. Mark Segbers recorded a brace and Nansel Selbol scored the third with a sublime finish inside the box; which was subsequently nominated for USL goal of the week.
Segbers scored his first professional goal in the 45th minute when Michael Seaton sent a beautifully weighted pass to Segbers who got behind the back line and sent ball right between the legs of Eric Lopez. In the 59th minute, Koji Hashimoto sent a skillfully crafted pass to Segbers who recorded the brace. In the 89th minute, Nansel Selbol squared up against Jonathan Hernandez, putting his foot up and around the ball up over Eric Lopez for the world-class finish in the top right corner of the met. The night saw Los Dos seeing red as defender Jean Engola was sent off in the 30th minute for denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity, fouling Michael Seaton from behind. Then in the 54th minute, midfielder Alex Mendez was sent off for putting Christian Duke in a dangerous situation when he lunged at him two cleats up.

The loan goal of the match was scored by Sacramento Republic FC’s Jeremy Hall off of a penalty. Twelfth place LA Galaxy II heads into the match coming off of back-to-back wins against Las Vegas Lights and Tulsa Roughnecks FC. Sunday’s match will be the second of three fixtures between the teams. The third and final meeting will take place Saturday, July 7 at Championship Soccer Stadium at Orange County Great park.
The club returns home to Championship Soccer Stadium on Saturday, June 16th at 6:00 PM when they take on Reno 1868 FC for Family Movie Night presented by Enthusiast Media Group. Fans attending are encouraged dress as their favorite superhero and stay after the match and watch the movie from the pitch.
