IRVINE, Calif. (June 21, 2018) – Orange County SC look to take the series against Tulsa Roughnecks FC on Saturday, June 23 at 7:00 PM. Saturday’s match will take place at Championship Soccer Stadium at the Orange County Great Park on Beach Towel Night presented by 24 Hour Fitness. Orange County SC’s battle against Reno 1868 FC on Saturday, June 16 ended in a 2-2 draw. Orange County SC started the match strong when, in the first nine minutes, Thomas Enevoldsen crossed to Giovanni Ramos Godoy who narrowly missed the net to the left. The first goal of the night for Reno 1868 FC came when Brian Brown stepped up and converted a penalty in the 55th minute, for Reno 1868 FC. Orange County SC followed it up with a goal of their own in the 63rd minute as Aodhan Quinn played a through ball to Michael Seaton. Seaton, squared the ball to an awaiting Thomas Enevoldsen who drilled the ball home. Six minutes later, Orange County SC took full advantage when Reno 1868 FC conceded a corner kick. Giovanni Ramos-Godoy a header to the far-left post for Thomas Juel-Nielsen, to tap in from close range. In the 83rd minute, Reno leveled the match as Danny Musovski placed a ball just out of reach of Andre Rawls.
The upcoming match against Tulsa Roughnecks FC will be the second meeting between the two teams. The first, a 5-0 victory for Orange County SC, took place on March 31 in Tulsa. Orange County SC controlled the match from the start when Mats Burman sent a cross to Thomas Enevoldsen who headed the ball to the top corner of the net in the 15th minute. Four minutes later, Mark Segbers passed to Richard Chaplow who took advantage of a deflection off a Roughnecks defender, putting Orange County SC up by two. In the 29th minute, Thomas Enevoldsen scored his second of the night by slotting a ball to the bottom right corner of the net. Orange County SC didn’t let up in the second half. In the 77th minute, Chaplow sent a perfect cross to Enevoldsen who launched a powerful strike to the low right corner, giving Enevoldsen his first hat trick of the season. The final goal of the night came four minutes later when Enevoldsen set up Michael Seaton. Saturday’s match will prove entertaining for fans as Orange County SC could jump into 4th place in the Western Conference Standings and Tulsa Roughnecks FC will be looking to get their first win of the season.
