IRVINE, Calif. (April 5, 2018) – Orange County Soccer Club are back at home Saturday night for the first 405 derby showdown of the season against SoCal rivals LA Galaxy II.
Orange County SC had the perfect week in Oklahoma, which saw them record two wins in four days. The results saw the club rise to the top of the Western Conference standings, with the team now sitting in 2nd place, following Swope Park Rangers victory last night. The first victory came on Wednesday night at Taft Stadium as Orange County SC defeated OKC Energy FC 1-0, who had not lost at home since July 2017. The club then went on to demonstrate they are the team to beat this season as they powered past Tulsa Roughnecks FC 5-0 on Saturday at ONEOK Field. In Saturday’s skirmish in Tulsa, midfielder Richard Chaplow and forward Thomas Enevoldsen were in top form. Chaplow sent a powerful strike into the top right corner of the net from 22 yards outside of the box, scoring his first goal of the season. However, it was Enevoldsen who stole the show as he recorded his first hat trick for the club and unselfishly setup forward Michael Seaton, for his first goal for the club. Enevoldsen was named USL Player of the Week (week 3) for his valiant efforts in Oklahoma. Additionally, defender Alex Crognale was named to the USL Team of the Week (week 3).
