IRVINE, Calif. (August 29, 2020) – OC have yet another quick turnaround after their midweek match in Las Vegas. After a surprising loss, the side will be determined to bounce back with a win.

Orange County remains in second place in Group B play, with three points and two games in hand over the visitors. All is to play for as both sides look to maintain pace with group leaders Phoenix.
Orange County conceded three goals against Vegas, the first time they had conceded more than one goal in a match all season. Coincidentally, San Diego’s last match was against Reno, which also ended in a 3-1 loss.
A large part of San Diego’s woes come from a lack of finishing. Irvin Parra and Ben Spencer have suffered injuries, leaving Francis Atuahene up top for Loyal SC. At the other end of the pitch, Jon Kempin has missed the last three matches, and the side has conceded seven goals in his absence.
The OC defense will need to have a strong showing after allowing three goals against Las Vegas. Nine of the 15 shots at the midweek were on target, the highest number allowed by Orange County in 2020. OC will also need clinical finishing from Ugo Okoli and Brian Iloski to reestablish a gap between the two sides as the league heads into its penultimate month.
Aodhan Quinn scored from the spot-on Tuesday night, meaning that the midfielder is now OC’s joint top-scorer alongside Okoli.
Harry Forrester and Thomas Enevoldsen are unavailable for selection.
The match kicks off at 7 p.m. Pacific at Championship Stadium at the Orange County Great Park. The game will be broadcast live on COX YurView in Orange County, and ESPN+ elsewhere in the United States. The game is also available internationally on the USL Championship YouTube channel.
