Orange County SC has announced the signing of 24-year-old midfielder Iván Gutiérrez, who last played for Phoenix Rising FC, to a 25-day contract, pending league and federation approval.
The Norwalk, CA native made nine appearances for Phoenix during the 2021 USL Championship campaign. Prior to that, Gutiérrez played for LA Galaxy II scoring two goals and five assists over two seasons.
Gutiérrez moved to the USL Championship from Liga MX side Chivas Guadalajara where he featured for the reserve and U-20 squads. In his pre-professional seasons, Gutiérrez was part of the Chivas USA Academy system.
In international competition, Gutiérrez played for the Mexican Youth National Team at the U-17 level.
He will be available for selection for OCSC’s match against Oakland Roots SC on Wednesday, June 1.
