Orange County SC looks to continue its good run of form in league play as they get set to face Louisville City FC at Lynn Family Stadium in Louisville, KY on Saturday, May 11 at 4:30 PM PDT. Both teams are coming off Open Cup heartbreak midweek, and will be looking for a bounce back performance.
THEY (DO) LOVE IT
Louisville City FC enter Saturday’s contest in second place in the USL-C Eastern Conference. They currently sit just two points behind Eastern Conference leaders Charleston Battery and are the second highest scoring team in the conference behind the Battery. What makes these feats a tad more impressive is that LCFC have played three fewer league matches than the conference leaders. LouCity had their fair share of Open Cup heartbreak, after they fell to the Seattle Sounders of the MLS 2-2 AET (5-4 on penalties) to exit the competition in the Round of 32. They are led up top by forward Wilson Harris who has scored seven goals so far this season, placing him second in the Golden Boot race.

ALREADY BEST FRIENDS
Orange County SC fell to Loudoun United 2-1 in the Round of 32 of the U.S. Open Cup at home last Tuesday, and while unfortunate the focus now shifts back to league play. They earned a 2-0 victory over Monterey Bay FC on Foundation Night at The Champ in their last league match on April 27. Goals from forwards Thomas Amang and Ethan Zubak, combined with the fourth clean sheet of the season for goalkeeper Colin Shutler helped earn all three points for the Black and Orange, as well as over $15,000 donated back to Orange County non-profit organizations! While this might be their first season together, midfielders Sofiane Djeffal and Kyle Scott have been a formidable pairing in the middle of the park, combining for 85% average passing accuracy, seven chances created, one goal and 16 tackles won.
