READY FOR THE RED PANTS
Hamburger SV is one of the longest-standing clubs in the history of German club soccer. Nicknamed die Rothosen for their iconic red pants, the club is currently playing in 2. Bundesliga and head into the World Cup break sitting second in the table. Hamburg selected OCSC as one of their friendly opponents due to the club’s shared “Pathway to Pro” beliefs for their players. They have previously been crowned German champions, won the European Cup and are currently working towards promotion back into the Bundesliga.

ONE FINAL RUN AT THE CHAMP
Tuesday’s match will mark the final match in Black and Orange for German goalkeeper Patrick Rakovsky and Finnish midfielder Mikko Kuningas. This season Rakovsky made 27 starts and recorded 69 saves for OCSC. Kuningas battled injuries over the course of the 2022 season, but recorded one goal and two assists in 16 matches. Both Kuningas and Rakovsky played integral roles in OCSC’s run to the title in 2021, so be sure to come out and send them off in style.
FOREVER ORANGE AND BLACK
Orange County SC is also saluting captain and defender Michael Orozco, midfielder Tommy McCabe and forwards Sean “Ugo” Okoli and Erick “Cubo” Torres. The group will not be appearing in the match against Hamburg, but will be receiving special recognition during the match. Orozco is the club leader in starts, matches played and minutes played. McCabe made eight starts in 24 appearances for OCSC this season, providing one goal. Okoli notched five goals in 13 starts across 33 appearances. Torres scored nine goals and added two assists in 25 starts across 33 appearances in 2022, his lone season with OCSC. McCabe, Okoli and Orozco depart as champions and all four will always be remembered for their contributions in Orange and Black!
