Professional Experience
2022-2023 (Orange County SC): Powers shifted to defense in 2023, first as an emergency center-back, but then as a permanent move in the middle of the park. Despite playing less games there than the rest of his defensive teammates, Powers ranked second only to Nakkim in clearances (98), blocks (17), and aerial duels won (60). He has appeared in 67 matches across all competitions in his two stints with the club.
2022 (Glentoran): After winning the 2021 USL Championship with OCSC, Powers signed with NIFL side Glentoran, where he made 10 appearances for the Irish side.
2021 (Orange County SC): Powers made his way back to the states and was an integral part of OCSC’s run to the USL Championship title in 2021, starting in 13 of his 14 appearances –including all four playoff matches. He recorded one assist, won 31 tackles and made 34 interceptions in defensive midfield.
2020-2021 (Dundee United): Powers made the move to Dundee United, where he helped the Tangerines earn promotion back into the Scottish Premiership. He appeared in 22 matches, 14 as a starter, and scored one goal.
2017-2019 (Orlando City SC): Powers was traded to the Orlando in 2017 from the Colorado Rapids. In three seasons, he made 16 appearances and tallied one assist.
2013-2017 (Colorado Rapids): After being drafted 11th overall in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft, Powers was named the 2013 MLS Rookie of the Year. Across five seasons, Powers appeared in 136 matches and started 116 matches for Colorado, amassing 14 goals and 23 assists.
College Experience
Across four years at the University of Notre Dame, Powers recorded 10 goals and 22 assists in 78 appearances for the Fighting Irish. He was named to the 2009 Big East All-Rookie Team, the 2010 & 2011 All-Big East Second Team, and the 2012 All-Big East First Team.
